APPOINTMENTS AT LANGFORD MEDICAL PRACTICE

Due to room capacity issues at Victoria House Surgery, from Monday 28 September, we will be using Langford Medical Practice for some non-Covid face-to-face appointments booked on the day, by your registered GP, following a telephone consultation. There is absolutely no walk-in service and patients must only visit when asked to do so.

Our GPs will have access to a clinic room within Langford Surgery and appointments there will only be booked by a doctor following a telephone consultation where it has been decided that there is a clinical need to see a patient face-to-face.

Patients may not request an appointment specifically at Langford and our GPs will not be based there as they were before. Our GPs will rotate between Victoria House Surgery and Langford Medical Practice. If you are called to attend a face-to-face appointment you will be asked to go to the place where your GP is working on that day, which could be either Victoria House or Langford.

There is now no indoor waiting area at Langford Surgery and there are no patient co-ordinators on-site. Patients who are asked to attend must wait outside at their appointment time at the side door at the front left by the dispensary entrance (the area marked by circles on the pavement). You must social distance and wear a face covering. The clinician will come outside at the time of your appointment and invite you to enter the building.

If you come to the surgery by car then you may wish to wait in your vehicle until your appointment time. We also ask that you carry a mobile phone, if you have one, so that we can contact you in that way if necessary.

The Langford dispensary remains closed with its services continuing to operate at Victoria House Surgery instead.

Since March 2020 the Langford Medical Practice has served fully as a Covid-19 assessment centre. Its role in this respect is lessening but it will still continue to operate in this way with some specially isolated facilities to the right of the building, with a separate entrance and exit.

We will regularly review how this system is working and make any appropriate changes where and when we can.
