Practices Nurses

Practice nurses provide general nursing services and health promotion advice by appointment between 08.30 and 18.00. In addition, each nurse has special areas of expertise and responsibility: family planning (including emergency contraception), smoking cessation and allergies, travel advice and immunisations as well as the management of chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes, COPD and coronary heart disease. Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one
